Repurposed oak finds a natural new home in Camden High Street.

It’s been lovely to play a part in creating SubSTRATUM – a civic square at the heart of the newly pedestrianised Camden High Street.

The oak we used came from trees felled in Wembley – a great example of how designers are choosing to use locally sourced timber in their work.

SubSTRATUM was designed by Edgy Collective and LINDA as part of the London Festival of Architecture. It responds to calls from community consultations for more seating and greening in the area.

As makers of sustainable street furniture and bespoke timber design, we’re proud to see London’s fallen trees given a new public life. From civic spaces to one-off installations, we collaborate with architects and designers who share our belief that local materials can shape better, more beautiful cities.
