Role overview
We’re looking for someone to take responsibility at our warehouse and production headquarters in Bulphan, Essex – overseeing how timber moves from freshly milled log through drying and preparation, and ultimately into the hands of customers and our own furniture workshop.
This role sits at the heart of our business. You’ll oversee milling and seasoning, manage the organisation and valuation of kiln-dried stock, and make informed decisions about how timber is allocated to customer orders and internal projects to maximise value and efficiency.
You’ll work directly with customers and makers – understanding what they’re trying to create and identifying suitable timber. You’ll also help us develop repeatable product formats that make the best use of the material we mill.
This is a hands-on operational role, but with significant responsibility for planning and decision-making. Your time will be split between the warehouse and office – overseeing stock, selecting boards for orders, meeting customers, maintaining our stock database, and directing day-to-day yard activity alongside a small team supporting with timber handling and outdoor work.
This role would suit someone with experience in furniture making, machining or timber production, who enjoys creating order, improving systems and taking ownership of outcomes.
This is a vital role for Fallen & Felled, working closely with the founders to strengthen and develop this core part of the business. There is genuine scope to grow into a senior position with greater responsibility over time.

Based near Bulphan, Essex. Applicants must have their own transport and live within a manageable commuting distance.
* This is a full time position, but we are open to applicants who may wish to work four days per week or seek some flexibility of hours.
