What does flattening involve?
Even when properly seasoned and dried, slabs are rarely completely flat – some natural cupping or unevenness is normal. If you're building a table or need a true, flat surface, we can flatten this slab on our CNC machine to remove any cup or twist. Note this leaves visible tooling marks from the machining process; further sanding will be needed to reach a smooth, finished surface.
