slab dining tables
One tree. One table.
Every slab we use begins as a single tree - rescued from a London street, a woodland clearing, or an English estate. Milled by us, seasoned for over a year, and shaped into a table that carries the full width, grain and character of that tree. No joins. No compromises. Just one extraordinary piece of English hardwood.

From tree to table
Every slab we sell begins with a tree we know. When a tree is felled in or around London – whether from age, disease or development – we're often there to collect it.
From each tree comes a small number of slabs. Each one different. Each one with a story we can tell you.
Where it begins
A tree felled in or around London – collected by us before it can be chipped or burned.
Milled by us
We mill every log ourselves, each cut revealing the full width and character of the timber for the first time.
Seasoned for over a year
The slabs are stacked and dried slowly in our Essex yard until the timber is stable and ready to work
Find your slab
Find your slab
Because we mill and season our own timber, every slab in our yard has a history we can tell you. When you order a table from us, you're not choosing from a catalogue - you're choosing a specific piece of wood.
Once you enquire we'll show you what we currently have available. And if you'd like to visit our yard in Essex, you're welcome to come and find your slab in person - to see the grain, feel the weight, and choose the exact piece that will become your table.
It's a rare thing to be able to do. We think it makes all the difference.

our story: From tree to table

surface options
We finish most dining tables in a hard-wearing natural oil — it deepens the grain and ages beautifully. For busier households, a clear lacquer offers a tougher, easier-to-clean surface.
We'll advise on the right option when we talk.

Natural beauty, honestly made
We work with real English trees — each one different, each one with a history. Knots, grain variation and natural character are part of what makes every table unique, not flaws to be hidden.
Where timber has cracks or voids, we can fill them with resin or add bowtie inlays — both functional and beautiful. Just let us know what you'd like when you enquire.
