'Brighton' Solid English Elm Live Edge Wooden Floating Shelf

A handmade-to-order solid elm shelf with live edge.

The Brighton shelf is made from solid elm, sourced from urban locations in and around Brighton where these beautiful old trees have died from Dutch Elm Disease.

With its swirly grain and rich tones, elm is one of the most stunning English hardwoods. Available in a range of lengths, the Brighton features a natural live (waney) edge, and comes with the option of pre-drilled holes and floating brackets. Free delivery within three weeks of purchase.

The Brighton shelf is part of the Fallen & Felled London Tree collection, furniture we make sustainably from trees felled in and around London that would otherwise go to waste. The elms we source from Brighton are also street trees, many of which have historically been used as firewood. Each shelf has a negative carbon footprint of between 4.8kg (80cm length) and 9.8kg (160cm).

Each shelf is marked on its end with the Fallen & Felled logo, and comes with a certificate of provenance.

Please note - this is a natural product and no one shelf will be exactly like the example on the photograph. Due to the wide variation in shapes of the wood use to make this shelf, we will show you a photo of the board before we craft it into your finished shelf.

Each shelf is individually crafted to your selected specifications. As they are made to order and not stocked as pre-made items, we are unable to accept returns, refunds, or exchanges once an order has been placed. Please double-check your dimensions before ordering. If your order arrives damaged, faulty or not as described, we will of course work with you to resolve the issue. Please see our terms of service for more information.

Free delivery
Our shelves are handmade to order and delivered by courier to addresses in England, Scotland and Wales within three weeks of purchase.

Delivery to Northern Ireland, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and other offshore locations can be arranged on request but will incur additional courier costs and a longer delivery time. Please contact us with details of your order and a delivery address, and a member of our team will get back to you with a quote.

Prefer to collect?
Alternatively, you can pick up your shelves from our workshop in Camden, London. Please add a note to your order requesting collection, before checking out. We will email you when your order is ready to collect. Our workshop is open on Saturdays from 10am - 4pm and weekdays by appointment only.

Please note: we do not install shelves.
